The Graduates’ Association has now the strength of 4500 graduate members who belong to different faculties. Taking into account different of faculty- members, association has created some cells, as like Engineers’ Cell, Doctors’ Cell, Teachers’ Cell, Advocates’ Cells, Dr. A.N. Upadhye Prakrit Study Centre, etc. These cells are performing their roles in their respective fields.
Organization Activities for Students :
- Aptitude test, Career guidance, vocational guidance camps
- Free medical camps for the rural people
- Free legal aid for the poor and needy persons
- Prakrit Language study and Research centre for the interested students
- Assisted/guidance in admission procedure for higher education in renowned Jain Minority Institutions from the association
Graduates’ Association sends at about 150 to 160 students every year for admission in minority institutions like Walchand institute of Technology, Solapur, Bahubali college of Engineering and Technology, Shravanbelgola, College of Engineering and Technology, Varur, polytechnics of Shravanbelgol, Stavanidhi, Karad etc. Up till now good number of students have been benefited from this activity during last 12 years.
Vardhapan Din and Prashasti Veertaran Sohala, Gunavant Vidyarthi Gourav Sohala are the most important activities of the Graduates’ Association. Every year on the occasion of Vardhapan Din noteworthy, personalities of the community who have given noble contribution to the fields of Agriculture, Industry, Creation and Research in Jain Literature and welbeing of the women are awarded prashasties namely Bhagawan Vrishabhadeo krishi Prashasti, Sheth Walchand Hirachand Udyog Prashasti, Dr. A.N. Upadhye Jain Sahitya Nirmiti and Sanshodhan Prashasti and shrimati Kalantreakka Stree Unnati Prashasti. These are the prestigious awards of the association and up till now 52 personalities have been awarded, so also meritorious students from primary level to post graduate level of Jain community are felicitated by giving them prizes, certificates, mementoes etc. and up till now about 1000 students have been felicitated by the association.
Graduates’ Association has undertaken the drive of membership and establishment of branches at the central Villages and places in the jurisdiction of Dakshin Bharat Jain Sabha. Graduates’ Association appeals Jain Graduates and Diploma holders to come in to this fold by accepting membership of association. Move over it is bonded duty to become an active member of association and take part in social-cultural – educational development of the society.
